Rivet V2.1 Lite

RIVET is a terminal-based system manager and productivity tool for Windows. Lite is the middle tier — everything in Free, plus a full productivity layer built around focus, study, and gaming.

No install hassle. just run the installer.

 No background processes, no phoning home, no registry changes beyond execution policy.

What you get on launch

A live dashboard — updating continuously — showing CPU load, RAM, GPU utilisation, power state, top process, network status, and session time. All colour-coded, all in real time.

System tools

Check your drive usage, run a thermal vent to flush CPU load and clear temp files, audit the top 15 processes eating your CPU, pull your IP, check the weather, or get a full system snapshot with status. The basics are solid and they work.

Tasks and notes — unlimited

Free caps you at 5 tasks and 10 notes. Lite removes both limits. Add tasks, close them by number, log timestamped notes, clear the board. Simple and fast from the terminal.

Pomodoro and focus

pomodoro starts a 25-minute focus block. While it's running, RIVET blocks distracting sites via the Windows hosts file — YouTube, Reddit, whatever you configure — and notifies you when it's time to break. Break lengths are configurable. focus toggles site blocking without a timer. Everything unblocks cleanly when focus ends, and the uninstaller clears any hosts entries.

Study mode

study mode is a full study lock: focus enforcement, Pomodoro integration, periodic quotes, and homework alerts. Run homework add [subject] [task] [due date] to log assignments with deadlines. The homework board shows urgency indicators so you know what's actually pressing.

Game mode

game mode clears background processes and switches RIVET to a game-focused theme. It also auto-activates when it detects a known game running — CS2, Valorant, Fortnite, Minecraft, and more. Configurable via the known_games list in config.json.

XP, ranks, and achievements

Everything you do in RIVET earns XP — completing tasks, finishing Pomodoro sessions, logging notes, running study mode. Ranks progress from Labourer through Apprentice, Tradesman, Foreman, and Site Master. achievements shows what you've unlocked. stats gives the full picture.

Themes

Seven visual schemes: steel, concrete, hazard, copper, brass, weld, blueprint. Switch with theme [name].

Spotify controls

If Spotify desktop is running, spotify shows what's playing. play, pause, and skip control it without leaving the terminal.

Voice activation

voice on enables wake-word listening. Say "Rivet" followed by any command. Requires a microphone. Threshold is configurable.

All data stays local. Nothing is sent anywhere. Credentials are stored as SHA-256 hashes.
